INSPIRATION

Maureen draws inspiration from everyday life, infusing her creations with
character, nostalgia, and emotional resonance. Her pieces, often playful
and quirky, reflect her fascination with fairy tales, mythology, and religious
imagery. Inspired by traditional European porcelain figurines, combined with
a South African sensibility, and African elements, her work reflects both
her South African and European roots, inviting viewers to uncover layers of
meaning and imagination.

Each piece tells a unique story, showcasing her remarkable skill and creativity.
Today, 24 years after first joining a ceramic studio, Maureen is a successful,
self taught professional artist with a vast body of work exhibited and sold all
over the world.
