LITTLE DIVER
The third and final work to emerge from the Bubblegum Years is “Little
Diver”, completed in December 2025.
Feisty and full of bravado, she stands tall, enjoying a moment on a hot
summer day, her face turned towards the warmth of the sun.
The work speaks to the freedom and fragility of childhood, those
fleeting, bubblegum-like moments that seem endless at the time, yet
pass all too quickly.
Inspired by a love of swimming
and memories of carefree
hot summer days, Little Diver
recalls the laughter, shouting
and splashing around the pool,
on the beach and in the waves
during long December holidays.
Through this three-part series
of life-size bronze sculptures,
Maureen demonstrates her
mastery of the bronze medium,
imbuing each work with
vitality, emotion, and character.
Together, the figures invite
viewers into a richly imagined
world of joy, nostalgia, and
cultural storytelling.
