Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.
When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.
We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

A Diasec consists of 3 layers; an aluminium dibond board as the support material, the image on photographic paper (or an inkjet print), and a layer of acrylic glass.
The image gets onto the photographic paper via laser light and the paper gets developed as conventional photographic paper in previous times.
The paper used for the Diasec we sell is Fuji Chrystal Archival Paper, which has a specific glow and enhances the colours. Once finished, the image gets pasted on the aluminium dibond board and in a cleanroom covered with acrylic glass.
Fuji gives a 75-year guarantee on colourfastness of the image and the acrylic glass filters around 90% of UV light.
There are only very few companies worldwide who are able to produce Diasec in high quality. Because of this, we have all our Diasec made in Germany.
Claude Chandler
Claude Chandler
Born into Durban’s vibrant art scene, Claude Chandler was raised in a home where creativity was a way of life. The son of two accomplished artists and influential figures in the South African art community, Claude grew up surrounded by canvases, studios, and the dynamic rhythm of artistic expression. His passion for portraiture was ignited in 2005 when he began painting his high school teachers — a project that quickly drew attention and portrait commissions, solidifying his path as an artist.
Claude went on to study Fine Art at the Durban University of Technology, where he refined his technical skills and began developing a distinct artistic voice. After graduating in 2011, he relocated to Cape Town, immersing himself in the city’s thriving creative community. Since then, he has steadily gained recognition both within South Africa and on the international stage.
Now a well-established artist, Claude Chandler’s work has been featured at numerous prominent art fairs, including the AKAA Fair in Paris (2017–2018), the Stroke Art Fair in Munich, and the FNB Joburg Art Fair (2018). Most recently, his work has been showcased at the Affordable Art Fair in London and Amsterdam (2023–2024).
As a key artist represented by The Travelling Art Gallery, Chandler has exhibited across Europe, with shows in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Ludwigshafen, and Palma de Mallorca. In 2022, he held a successful residency and sell-out solo exhibition titled Space and Time in Berlin.
In 2023, Claude Chandler collaborated with ARTsouthAFRICA’s creative team to produce a series of limited-edition works using the patented Diasec technique. These exclusive pieces are available globally through The Travelling Art Gallery and locally via The Artists Gallery in Cape Town. His work was also presented by The Artists Gallery at the 2024 Positions Art Fair in Berlin, Germany.
In recent years, Claude Chandler has also made a name for himself in the realm of street art, contributing vibrant murals across Cape Town and adding a bold urban edge to his body of work. Whether through intimate portraiture or large-scale public art, Claude Chandler’s work captures the emotional complexity of the human experience, inviting viewers to reflect on perception, identity, and the evolving relationship between the self and the digital world.
In Cape Town, Claude Chandler is exclusively represented by The Artists Gallery.
