Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Siphamandla Ex

    Siphamandla Ex

Siphamandla “Ex” Oscar Mngwango, born on 12 July 1987 in Vryheid, South Africa, is a Johannesburg based artist raised by his grandmother, whose influence profoundly shaped his life and creative path. Their close bond inspired him to use art as a means of expressing his thoughts and lived experiences. Though largely self-taught, he has drawn since childhood and transitioned from a career as a financial advisor to a full-time artist in 2019, bringing discipline and vision to his practice.

Mngwango has collaborated with fellow artists and hosted group exhibitions featuring both emerging and established names in the South African art scene. Working primarily with acrylic, oil, and charcoal on canvas, his vibrant, detailed
compositions celebrate the richness, joy, and complexity of everyday Black life. Rather than centring struggle, his work highlights identity, culture, and self-expression as they naturally unfold in daily experience.

He is also the founder of the Siphamandla Ex Foundation, which hosts workshops in Northern KwaZulu-Natal to mentor and support young artists. In 2025, he was selected as one of two artists for the PESP5 Art Creating Programme and participated in the Latitude Art Fair. Through his practice, he honours his roots, pays tribute to his grandmother’s legacy, and offers an authentic, uplifting perspective on Black life.

He is represented by The Artists Gallery in Cape Town.
