Description
Gazing into the sky and wondering about the meaning of life is as old as humanity itself. Why are we here, and what are we meant to do? What is the purpose of our lives, and why does it so often feel meaningless—just solving problems and surviving?
And yet, in the next moment, we are struck by the wonder of existence and cling to life with all our strength.
The great Persian poet Rumi believed that life’s meaning could be found in one thing: Love. The painting The Dance of Eternity is inspired by Rumi’s poem of the same name, which is inscribed within the artwork. Over 700 years ago, he wrote:
The Dance of Eternity
In the ballroom of the cosmos,
We dance with the stars and the moon,
Each step in rhythm with the heartbeat of the universe,
In this dance of eternity, love is our tune.
With every twirl, every spin,
We move closer to the divine,
Our souls intertwine.
