Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Description

“Through my life, I have moved through many changes.

This piece is born from those personal metamorphoses: the shedding of old forms and the gentle, sometimes painful, surrender to what comes next.
I have learned that transformation is not a single event, but a rhythmic progression through time. I use to be a daughter but now a have become not only a mother but so much more.
Change is a soft erosion of boundaries. It is about learning to let go of what once defined me, and discovering grace in the spaces where l find myself in now.”

    Androetta Bekker

    Androetta Bekker

Androetta Bekker, born in 1982 in the Free State, grew up surrounded by South Africa’s rich cultural diversity. Introduced to art by her mother, she embraced creativity early but fully returned to it only after her career in science was disrupted by a traumatic accident, a turning point that shaped her belief in change as a catalyst for growth.

Now based in Cape Town, Bekker creates bold, colourful works featuring expressive illustrations and striking surface patterns. Her art explores the complexity of human emotions, capturing the layered, often contradictory feelings people experience simultaneously.

Bekker’s debut exhibition was in December 2020. She has since earned recognition, including a Top 40 placement in the 2021 Sanlam Portrait Award and a Silver Award in Camelback Gallery’s international Black and White Art Competition. Her work has appeared in group exhibitions at Artisart, Cahoots, Rust-en-Vrede, Zeitz MOCAA, and internationally in Palma de Mallorca, Kassel, and at the 2024 Positions Berlin Art Fair. Her first solo-exhibition, Gilded Masquerade, opened in early 2026.

Internationally, Bekker participates in the Travelling Art Gallery initiative, and in Cape Town, she is represented by The Artists Gallery.
