Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Sarah Danes Jarrett

    Sarah Danes Jarrett

Sarah Danes Jarrett, born in 1964 in the UK and raised in Zimbabwe, studied commercial art at Harare Technikon, completing her diploma in 1985. She moved to South Africa in 1988 and began her career in the design industry. In 1998, after becoming a mother, she left design behind and began painting on canvas, launching her career as a fine artist.

Jarrett is celebrated for her portraits, with a particular focus on faces. She is drawn to the translucency of skin and the expressive depth of eyes, often using colours that depart from natural tones to create abstraction and emotional resonance. Her style is a striking balance of chaos and control, bold, aggressive brushstrokes coexist with precise edges, and white paint is used to define form over layers of vibrant colour. This tension mirrors her own personality and her desire to bring order to an ever-changing world.

Her work has gained international recognition, featuring in exhibitions across Europe, including Hamburg, Palma de Mallorca, Kassel, and Berlin, as well as online through ARTSY’s New Beginnings exhibition.

In Cape Town, she is represented by The Artists Gallery, where her emotionally charged, visually striking portraits continue to captivate collectors and audiences.

Through her work, Jarrett celebrates the intimate, expressive power of the human face and the profound beauty of the creative process.
