Description
“I created this series to express my wish for women.
I would see us as one tribe — a collective force that can reach beyond our individual differences.
Our unity would be a warrior-ship standing against injustice, inequality, and violence.
When you look at this portrait, you are seeing my vision of that warrior.
The pattern on her skin is our tribal identity and a spiritual armour, representing inherent strength and a unified front.
Her direct gaze shows a sense of defiance. She refuses to look away, asserting her presence and challenging you to meet her strength.
I use a stark monochromatic palette because I want nothing to distract you from her character and vision. The sepia tint suggests that we are making history.
There is no middle ground here. I wanted to present a clear image of a woman who is fully set on victory, empowerment, and change.”
