Description
“She wears her traditional headgear like a crown, she is proud, she is regal , and she is strong. She is surrounded by the familiar, her heritage, her past but she looks forward. She sees a better tomorrow. She sees herself taking control of her own destiny.
She has a vision of uplifting herself, taking control, taking power, and realizing her destiny. She is a queen, a mother and a source of strength to all around her.
In this work I am celebrating African greatness, -strength and -power. I want the viewer to be inspired by the resilience of the African woman, the African soil and African pride. I want to celebrate the women of this continent as the royalty they are.”
