Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Phillip Mabote

    Phillip Mabote

Phillip Mabote, born in 1982 in Qwa-Qwa, Free State, is a South African printmaker specialising in linocut. He studied Professional Printmaking at Artist Proof Studio (2007–2009), where he also participated in the Sonke Gender Justice Awareness Campaign and taught children through the studio’s outreach programme. He credits the institution as instrumental in shaping his artistic path and continues to value mentorship alongside his studio practice.

Mabote has exhibited widely, including a solo exhibition at Candice Berman Gallery and group shows at Lizamore & Associates, the South African Fine Art Print Fair, the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and the Industrial Development Corporation.

His work centres on identity and self-discovery, inspired by the belief that self-perception shapes destiny. Exploring themes of human existence and personal origin, his prints reflect resilience and transformation. A defining moment in his career was creating Journey in Pieces for a Hollard brief, symbolising joy, balance, and hope.

Based in Dobsonville, Soweto, he was included in a permanent exhibition at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town in 2024, in partnership with The Artists Gallery, which currently represents him.
