Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout. When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight. We will be in touch regarding the best options for you. Virtual hanging of art is an innovative service we offer that allows art enthusiasts and collectors to visualize how artworks will appear in their desired spaces before making a purchase. We digitally place the selected artworks on your walls, in the correct scale to achieve the desired aesthetic. This service not only helps in making informed decisions but also enhances the overall art-buying experience, providing a realistic preview of the final result and ensuring that the chosen artworks harmonize with the surrounding decor. Please contact us to make use of this service!

On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

Natasha Barnes, born in 1969, is a self-taught South African artist based in Ballito, near Durban, whose work is deeply inspired by her African heritage and a lifelong connection to nature. Painting since the age of seven, she has built an international career spanning more than three decades. She began with contemporary floral and landscape works, many widely distributed as prints through global publishers, before moving toward the expressive freedom of abstraction, where colour, movement, and intuition define her large-scale paintings.
Nature remains central to her practice, particularly the lotus flower, a recurring motif symbolising resilience and transformation. For Barnes, the lotus represents beauty emerging from adversity, a philosophy that underpins the emotional depth of her work.
Over the past 30 years, she has exhibited internationally in cities including London, Miami, New York, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Dallas, Tokyo, and across Europe. As a key participant in The Travelling Art Gallery since 2018, she has presented work in England, Dubai, South Africa, and the United States, with notable solo exhibitions in Dallas and Tokyo in 2024, and a successful joint exhibition with Juan Jooste at The Artists Gallery in Cape Town in 2025.
Represented by The Artists Gallery in Cape Town, Barnes is regarded as one of Africa’s most published and internationally recognised contemporary artists. Her practice reflects a life driven by passion, perseverance, and creative freedom.
