Throughout her life, Rix Wellmann has felt a profound connection between the images in her mind and the emotions they evoke. Rix Wellman lives and works in a remote coastal setting in South Africa, where the rhythm of the ocean and the surrounding natural landscape profoundly shape her artistic perspective. An avid swimmer and diver, she engages intimately with the marine environment, developing a heightened sensitivity to the subtle details of nature—light, movement, texture, and form. This deep, personal connection to her surroundings is reflected in her work, where observation and experience merge into a quiet yet compelling visual language.
