Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Christa Myburgh

    Christa Myburgh

Christa Myburgh, a South African artist, began her Fine Arts journey at the University of Pretoria, where she developed a lifelong passion for life figure drawing under the mentorship of Carl Jeppe. Her fascination with the human form laid the foundation for a career focused on creating expressive, visually compelling works. After her studies, she taught life drawing at the University of Technology in Bloemfontein, continuing her exploration of figure drawing and sharing her expertise with aspiring artists.

In her art, Myburgh skilfully combines elements of female portraiture with layered floral and organic forms. Her compositions incorporate colour, space, line, and movement to create a unique visual dialogue between the figures, flowers, and background, inviting viewers into a fluid narrative of colour and space. The recurring use of flowers and foliage in her work forms a visual language that aims to transcend conventional boundaries, inviting the viewer on a visual emotionally charged journey.

Myburgh’s artwork reflects her journey as a single parent, using the act of painting as a way to reclaim and express her femininity. She enhances the illusion of weightlessness on canvas, achieving a sense of movement and levitation that resonates with her vibrant and positive outlook on life. Her work draws viewers in with its dynamic interplay of figures and subtly blended backgrounds, often incorporating vibrant colours as symbols of resilience.

Myburgh’s career highlights include solo exhibitions, in 2014 and 2018 in Cape Town. She has also participated in several international exhibitions with The Traveling Art Gallery in Germany, where she broadened her perspective on global art trends. She has earned recognition in prestigious competitions, including the SPI Portrait Awards and The South African Artist Magazine cover competition.

Now based in Cape Town, Myburgh is represented by The Artists Gallery and continues to attract a dedicated following among collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide. Her body of work invites viewers to experience a boundless spectrum of human emotion, bridging the gap between art and the essence of femininity and resilience.
