“I find my inspiration for ‘Little Dancer, Come Play With Us’ in the joy, beauty, and innocence of the little girl.
A significant part of my creative output depicts the image of young children, especially girls. ‘Girls are just magic,’ a father once said to me, and those words have stayed with me.
With my work, I aim to touch the viewer with feelings of joy, love, and meaning in a world that’s often filled with negativity.
Degas’ Little Dancer, has always been one of my favorite art works, touching me since my early years as a budding artist.
When I began sculpting, my version of her emerged A younger girl than Degas’ original, symbolising absolute innocence, beauty, and the playful nature of childhood. The mischievousness of the bubblegum adds to the charm, evoking nostalgia for our own youthful days.
Creating her was an absolute joy, and I believe she represents the pinnacle of my work based on the young dancer.”
