Within South Africa we courier your artwork to your door - the shipping cost will show at the checkout.

When shipping art internationally, two primary options are commonly considered: crated and rolled. Crating involves securely packaging the artwork in a custom-built crate, providing maximum protection against physical damage but often resulting in higher shipping costs due to size and weight.
On the other hand, rolling art involves taking stretched paintings off the frame, carefully wrapping the artwork and placing it in a protective tube. This method is more cost-effective and suitable for flexible pieces.
Choosing between crating and rolling depends on the specific artwork's size, fragility, and budget, as well as the destination's shipping requirements and regulations.

We will be in touch regarding the best options for you.

    Mixed Media on Acrylic

    Micke Buitendag

    Micke Buitendag

Born in 1995 in Cape Town, South Africa, Mické Buitendag is a self-taught mixed media artist who discovered art as a form of therapy and self-reflection after completing a business degree. Her work blends contemporary and abstract styles, using digital and traditional media on high-gloss acrylic surfaces. Central themes in her art include femininity, identity, memory, and emotional depth.

Mické’s creative process involves layering textures and brushstrokes to create fragmented, multi-perspective faces that explore the complexity of human thought and perception. Each piece is a unique, original work that captures the tension between chaos and beauty, internal conflict and harmony.

Her art invites viewers to engage deeply and reflect on their own perceptions and emotions. As Mické explains, “A painting is an artist’s personal feelings, thoughts, therapeutic imagination, and a physical presentation of the mind.”

Since beginning her career in 2018, Mické has participated in many successful group exhibitions worldwide. She is represented by The Artists Gallery in Cape Town and has exhibited at events including World Art Dubai, Affordable Art Fair Sweden, and The Travelling Art Gallery in Germany. In 2024, she moved to Dubai to pursue her international art career further.
